Botched is about fixing bad plastic surgery. Botched by Nature, the 2016 spin-off, is about the people who never had surgery in the first place: patients born with facial differences, or left with them by accidents and illness, who were turned away by every surgeon they asked. Dubrow and Nassif take a converted tour bus across the country to find them, and the stakes are higher than anything in the main show.
What The Season Covers
Eight episodes aired on E! between August and October 2016. The cases include a woman whose nose was destroyed by a dog attack, a man with a condition that caused tumours across his face, a young woman born without a fully formed ear, and a patient with a genetic disorder affecting the shape of her skull. Each episode follows the consultation, the surgery and the reveal, and the two doctors argue over whether a case is even safe to attempt.
Why It Is Different From Botched
There is less of the Beverly Hills comedy, fewer celebrity patients and more of the actual medicine. Nassif, a facial plastic surgeon, does more of the heavy lifting here than in the parent show. The series ran one season only, but the cases were folded back into later Botched episodes.
