GoMovies Privacy Policy: What We Collect, What We Do Not, and Your Rights
GoMovies has no accounts. You do not register, log in, give an email address or enter a card to watch anything. That removes most of what a privacy policy usually has to explain. This page covers the little that is left: what our servers record, which cookies exist and why, what advertising and analytics partners see, what happens inside embedded video players, and how to exercise your rights.
No name, email, password, phone number or card is ever collected to use the site.
We do not sell, rent or trade any information about visitors to anyone.
IP address, browser type and pages visited, kept briefly for security and to keep the site running.
Third-party advertising and analytics services set cookies you can control, described in full below.
Who We Are and What This Policy Covers
GoMovies ("we", "us", "the site") operates gomoviesn.com, a free website for finding and watching movies and TV shows online. The site is run independently; it is not owned by a studio, network or advertising company. Our support and privacy contact is info.gomoviesn@gmail.com.
This policy covers every page on gomoviesn.com and its subdomains, our social media profiles under the handle @gomoviesn where we control them, and email you send to us. It does not cover websites, players or services run by other companies that you may reach through links or embedded content on GoMovies; those have their own policies, and section 6 explains how they fit in.
What GoMovies Does Not Collect
Because the site works without accounts, most personal data simply never reaches us. To watch anything on GoMovies you do not provide, and we do not ask for:
- A name, username, password or profile
- An email address or phone number
- Card numbers, bank details or any payment information
- Your date of birth, government ID or address
- A watch history, watchlist or ratings tied to you (there is nothing to tie them to)
- Access to your contacts, camera, microphone, files or location services
If any page that looks like GoMovies asks for a password, a card number or a "verification" of any kind, it is not GoMovies. Close it and, if you can, forward the link to info.gomoviesn@gmail.com so we can warn other visitors.
What GoMovies Does Collect, and Why
Like every website, GoMovies receives some technical information automatically when your browser requests a page. Here is all of it.

None of this is combined into a profile of you. We look at it as totals ("how many people opened this page"), not as individuals ("what did this person watch").
Cookies and Browser Storage
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Browser storage (localStorage) works the same way but stays on your device without being sent to the server. GoMovies uses both sparingly.

Cookies Set by Partners
Advertising and analytics services described in section 5 set their own cookies when their code loads on a page. We do not read those cookies and cannot see what is in them.
How to Control Cookies
- Browser settings. Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data. Blocking all cookies will not stop GoMovies working; it may reset a preference.
- Consent banner. Where the law requires it (for example in the EU and UK), a banner asks before advertising and analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice from the link in the footer at any time.
- Private browsing. An incognito or private window discards all cookies and storage when you close it.
Advertising and Analytics Partners
GoMovies is free because it carries a small amount of advertising. Ads are kept to a minimum and never placed over the video player. To show ads and to count visitors we use third-party services, which may set cookies and receive your IP address and the page you are on.
Advertising
Ads on GoMovies may be served by advertising networks such as Google AdSense. These networks may use cookies or similar identifiers to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to measure whether ads were seen. Personalised advertising can be switched off: Google's ad settings are at adssettings.google.com, and other networks can be opted out of at optout.aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
Analytics
We use an analytics service such as Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they open and how they arrived. Where the service supports it, IP addresses are anonymised and data sharing with the provider for its own purposes is switched off. Analytics data is reported to us as totals, not as individual visitors. You can block Google Analytics in every browser with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
Each partner processes data under its own privacy policy. Google's is at policies.google.com/privacy, and its explanation of how it uses data from sites like ours is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Embedded Video Players and Third-Party Sites
GoMovies does not store or host video files on its own servers. When you press play, the video is delivered by an embedded player operated by a third party. That player is loaded from the third party's servers, and they receive the same technical information any website does when you connect to it: your IP address, browser type, and the page the player is on. Some players set their own cookies for playback quality or ad delivery.
The same applies to any link that takes you off gomoviesn.com, including our social media profiles, IMDb, TMDb or a retailer link in an article. We do not control those services, and this policy stops at the edge of our site. We choose players and partners with reasonable care, but we recommend reading the policy of any third party whose content you use.
When You Email or Message Us
If you email info.gomoviesn@gmail.com, use the contact form (which opens your own email app; nothing is stored on the site), or message us on social media, we receive whatever you send: your email address or handle, your name if you include it, and the content of the message. We use it only to reply to you and to fix whatever you reported.
Correspondence is kept for up to 24 months so we can follow up on repeat issues, then deleted. We do not add your address to any mailing list; GoMovies does not run one. Messages sent through social platforms are also subject to that platform's privacy policy.
Legal Basis for Processing
Where data protection law such as the EU or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following bases:
- Legitimate interests for server logs, security, bug fixing and aggregate statistics: the site cannot run without them and they carry minimal risk to you.
- Consent for advertising and analytics cookies where the law requires it, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.
- Legitimate interests and, where relevant, contract for replying to messages you send us.
- Legal obligation where we are required to keep or disclose records, for example in response to a valid legal request.

Who We Share Data With
We do not sell, rent or trade any visitor data. The only sharing that happens is:
- Service providers that run the site for us: hosting, content delivery and security (for example Cloudflare), analytics and advertising networks named in section 5. They process data only to provide their service.
- Embedded third parties such as video players, which receive connection data directly from your browser as described in section 6.
- Legal requests. We may disclose data if required by law, a court order or a valid request from a public authority, or to protect the rights and safety of GoMovies and its visitors. Given how little we hold, there is usually nothing to disclose.
- A change of ownership. If GoMovies were ever transferred to a new owner, the limited data we hold would go with it under the same terms, and this policy would be updated.
Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive a copy in a portable format, or withdraw consent. Under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act you also have the right to know what is collected and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; GoMovies does not sell personal information, and you can opt out of personalised advertising through the links in section 5.
To exercise any right, email info.gomoviesn@gmail.com with the subject "Privacy request". Because we hold no account data, the only information likely to relate to you is a support email you sent or a server log entry matching your IP address, and we will explain what we found. We respond within 30 days and never charge for a request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority; in the UK that is the ICO, and in the EU your national supervisory authority.
Children's Privacy
GoMovies is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that age). Because the site has no accounts, we have no way to request or store a child's details, and we ask that parents supervise what children watch. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
How We Protect Data
- Encryption in transit. Every page on gomoviesn.com is served over HTTPS, so nothing between your browser and our server can be read on the way.
- Minimal data. The best protection for data is not to have it. We keep no account database, so there are no passwords or card numbers to leak.
- Restricted access. Server logs and the support inbox are accessible only to the people who run the site, with two-factor authentication.
- Short retention. Logs are deleted or anonymised on the schedule in section 9.
No website can promise perfect security. If we ever learned of a breach affecting visitor data, we would post a notice on the site and, where the law requires, notify the relevant authority.
International Visitors and Transfers
GoMovies is available worldwide, and our hosting, content delivery, analytics and advertising providers operate servers in several countries, including the United States and the European Union. This means the limited technical data described above may be processed outside the country you are in. Where required, our providers rely on recognised safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. By using the site you accept that this transfer takes place under those safeguards.
Changes to This Policy
We update this policy when the site, the law or our partners change. The effective date at the top of the page shows the latest version. For a change that materially affects how visitor data is handled, we will post a notice on the homepage for at least 30 days. Older versions are available on request.
