Mahavir Singh Phogat was a national wrestling champion who never got the chance to compete for India, and he wanted a son to do it. He had four daughters. Then two of them beat up a pair of boys in the village, and he saw what he had. Dangal is the highest-grossing Indian film ever made, mostly because of China, and it is the true story of the first Indian women to win wrestling gold at the Commonwealth Games.
What Happens In Balali And Beyond
Geeta and Babita are woken at five, have their hair cut off, are put in shorts and made to wrestle boys in the mud. The village laughs. Their father does not care. Geeta wins at state level, then national, and goes to the National Sports Academy in Patiala, where the coach tells her everything her father taught her is wrong. She comes home and beats him, and the fight between father and daughter in the mud pit is the centre of the film. The 2010 Commonwealth Games final in Delhi, with Mahavir locked in a store room, is the end.
Why Aamir Khan Gained Thirty Kilos
He shot the older Mahavir first at 97 kilos, then lost it all over five months to shoot the younger version. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra trained in wrestling for a year. The real Geeta and Babita Phogat were on set. Pritam’s Dangal and Haanikaarak Bapu are the songs. It made over 2,000 crore worldwide.
