Manoj grinds flour in a mill at night and studies by day. His friend Pandey, who has failed three times, runs a tea stall. Gauri Bhaiya, who has used up all his attempts, runs a library and coaches everyone for free. Shraddha, played by Medha Shankar, is a fellow aspirant from a different class who believes in him before anyone else does. The exam cycle, the “restart” written on the board, the interview panel’s question about his father, and the phone call at the end are built from the real Manoj Sharma’s life.

It opened quietly in October 2023 and ran for months as people told each other to see it. Vikrant Massey won the National Award for Best Actor.
