Josh Baskin is too short for the ride his crush is on. He finds a Zoltar Speaks machine at the back of the carnival, puts in a quarter, and wishes to be big. In the morning he is thirty. His mother thinks he is an intruder, so Josh and his friend Billy get a room in a flophouse in New York and look for the machine. In the meantime, he needs a job. Big got Tom Hanks his first Oscar nomination, and the piano scene at FAO Schwarz is the most famous thing he had done before Philadelphia.
What Happens At MacMillan Toys
Josh gets a data-entry job, meets the owner at the toy store, plays Heart and Soul and Chopsticks with him on the floor piano, and is made vice president in charge of product development because he is the only person in the company who still plays with toys. Susan, a colleague played by Elizabeth Perkins, falls for him. Billy keeps looking for Zoltar. The scene where Josh has to choose between the woman and being thirteen again is the end.
Why It Is The Best Of The Body-Swap Films
There were four of them in 1988, and this is the one that lasted. Penny Marshall was the first woman to direct a film that grossed 100 million dollars. Hanks studied the kid who played young Josh to copy his movements. The trampoline, the baby corn, the silly string and the limo sunroof are all here. Robert Loggia did the piano for real.
