Sydney White grew up on construction sites with her plumber father and his crew. She goes to Southern Atlantic University to join her late mother’s sorority, Kappa Phi Nu. The president, Rachel Witchburn, who runs a campus hot-or-not list, decides Sydney is a threat. Sydney White is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs as a college comedy, and the dwarfs are the seven dorks.
What Happens At The Vortex
Sydney is humiliated at the pledge ceremony and ends up at the Vortex, the house the university wants to tear down, with its residents: Lenny, Terrence, Gurkin, Spanky, Jeremy, George and Embele. Each one maps onto a dwarf and the film enjoys it. She fixes their plumbing. Tyler Prince, Rachel’s ex and the campus golden boy, likes her. Sydney runs the dorks for student council against Rachel. The poisoned apple is a laptop virus. The ending is a speech with every outcast on campus standing up.
Why Bynes Fans Rank It High
It is her last lead before she stepped away, and she is at her most relaxed. Sara Paxton’s Rachel, saying “Who’s the hottest of them all” to a laptop, is the villain. Matt Long is the prince. John Schneider is the father. The “attack of the nerds” rally with the Star Wars kid is the kind of 2007 comedy that has aged better than it should.
