Three women who were friends as girls are each attacked in a different way by the same man: one on a highway convoy, one babysitting in a house full of oversized dolls, one in a hotel room. Then the film pulls back and shows why. Amusement is three short horror films stitched into one, and the second segment, the clown-doll room, is the one people still talk about.
What Happens In The Three Stories
Shelby, played by Laura Breckenridge, is driving with her boyfriend in a line of cars when one of the drivers turns out to be transporting a body. Tabitha, played by Katheryn Winnick, is looking after her sister’s kids in a house where a life-size clown sits in the chair in the spare room, and he is not a doll. Lisa, played by Jessica Lucas, goes looking for her missing roommate at a hotel. The connecting story is a grade-school project where the three girls laughed at a boy’s drawing, and the boy grew up.
Why It Got A Second Life On Streaming
The film was made in 2006, sat on a shelf for two years, and went straight to DVD in 2009. It has since picked up a reputation for the clown scene alone, which does more with a rocking chair and a lamp than most horror films do with a budget. Katheryn Winnick made this five years before Vikings.
