Kevin and Marcus Copeland are two FBI agents who have just botched a drug bust by dressing up as Cuban ice-cream vendors. Their last chance is a babysitting job: escort two hotel heiresses, Brittany and Tiffany Wilson, to the Hamptons for the weekend. The sisters get scratched up in a car accident and refuse to be seen, so the brothers put on the prosthetics themselves. White Chicks got some of the worst reviews of 2004 and has been watched more every year since.
What Happens In The Hamptons
The fake Wilsons have to survive a weekend with the sisters’ real friends, a rivalry with the Vandergeld daughters, a charity fashion show, a dance-off in a nightclub, and Latrell Spencer, a basketball player played by Terry Crews who falls for Marcus. Crews singing along to Vanessa Carlton’s A Thousand Miles in his car is the scene that outlived the film. Meanwhile the actual kidnapping plot the FBI was worried about turns out to be real.
Why It Still Gets Quoted
Shawn and Marlon Wayans in the full white-face makeup are uncomfortable to look at on purpose, and the film gets most of its laughs from the gap between how they look and how they move. Busy Philipps, Jaime King and Jessica Cauffiel play the friends and get the best lines. The Wayans have talked about a sequel for twenty years and it has never happened.
