Comedy Family Romance

Frank Beardsley is a widowed Coast Guard admiral with eight children, who run on schedules. Helen North is a widowed handbag designer with ten, who run on freedom. They were high-school sweethearts. They meet again, marry within a month, and move both families into a lighthouse. Yours, Mine & Ours is a remake of the 1968 Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda film, and it is the one with the pig.

What Happens In The Lighthouse

The Beardsleys and the Norths hate each other. The eighteen children work out that if they make the house unbearable, the parents will divorce. Paint in the shower, a pig loose at a dinner with the admiral’s superiors, sabotage of a renovation, and a flooded kitchen follow. Then, in the course of working together, they become a family and do not want it to end, which is when the parents, worn down, decide to separate. The children have to undo their own work.
