One year later. The McCallisters are flying to Florida. At O’Hare, Kevin follows a man in the same coat as his father onto a flight to New York. He has his father’s bag, which has his father’s wallet. He checks into the Plaza Hotel. Home Alone 2 is the same film in a bigger city, and it made 359 million dollars, so nobody minded.
What Happens In New York
Kevin rides a limo with a pizza, visits the World Trade Center and Duncan’s Toy Chest, and is hunted through the Plaza by a concierge played by Tim Curry. Harry and Marv have escaped from prison and are planning to rob the toy shop on Christmas Eve. Kevin uses his uncle’s half-renovated brownstone as the trap house: bricks from the roof, a tool chest down the stairs, a kerosene-soaked rope, a hundred-pound bag of plaster. The Pigeon Lady in Central Park is the Old Man Marley of this one.
Why It Is Almost As Loved As The First
The traps are more violent, which is either the appeal or the problem. Brenda Fricker, an Oscar winner, plays the Pigeon Lady. Donald Trump’s cameo in the hotel lobby became a news story thirty years later. The Talkboy that Kevin uses to fake his father’s voice became a real toy because of demand. The Plaza still offers a Home Alone package.
