Tessa Young is a freshman with a long-distance boyfriend, a controlling mother and a roommate who has pink hair and a boyfriend who does not wear shirts. The roommate’s friend is Hardin Scott, who is British, reads Wuthering Heights and refuses to date. After began as a Harry Styles fan fiction on Wattpad with over a billion reads, and the film is the first of five.
What Happens With Hardin
Tessa and Hardin argue about Pride and Prejudice in class and then kiss by a lake. She breaks up with Noah. They go to a party, a tattoo parlour, a cabin, a dinner at his father’s house where it turns out his father is the chancellor. Tessa’s mother cuts her off. Then Tessa hears about the bet that Hardin’s friends made at the start, and the question of whether the whole thing was a game is the ending of this film and the start of the next one.
Why It Has An Audience That Does Not Care About Reviews
The reviews were brutal and the film made 69 million dollars on a 14 million dollar budget. Josephine Langford and Hero Fiennes Tiffin carried all five films. Selma Blair plays Tessa’s mother and Peter Gallagher plays Hardin’s father here, though both roles were recast later. If you were seventeen in 2019, this is the one.
